About Us

Umoja N'Inguvu means Unity is Power in Swahili. I believe if everybody rich and poor, Black and White, everyone worked together - we can lift each other up. Currently I farm 1 acre at Horseneck Farm in Kent following organic practices and I am excited to expand more in the coming years. My farm focuses on growing culturally relevant vegetables from my home country Burundi and from around the world. I grow a wide variety of crops that can be hard to find including amaranth greens, squash leaves, edible nightshade, green eggplant, shelling beans, African hard corn, collards and kale, Swiss chard, beets, leaf lettuce, tomatoes, chilis, and more. I am happy to work with any customer big or small to meet your needs, and I can offer delivery to your home or business within 20 miles of the farm. You can find me at the Delridge Farmers Market on Saturdays 10-2 and my produce is available for free on Saturdays at the Rainier Beach Farmstand from 10-2, or through the RBAC CSA program. You can also find my produce at the Tukwila Village Farmers Market from the IRC New Roots booth. Thank you for supporting my farm! Please feel free to call or email me for more information, prices, and crop availability.
