About Us
Sumas River Farm, a small, local, compact farm certified organic in 2007. We grow over 30 crop varieties: mini-greens: arugula. mizuna, cress, mustards, kales & mache. Fruit: strawberries, alpine berries, golden raspberries, figs & rhubarb, Culinary herbs, gourmet roots, asparagus, wild nettle shoots & heirloom tomatoes and more common farm produce.
Exquisite freshness, beauty & novelty of produce over a nine month harvest season; this we strive to achieve in deliveries to our customers. Native bumble bees pollinate our berries from their habitat along the river. We love the land.
Growing & Operating Practices
We constantly feed the soil so plants can capture the sun and drink the rain. Abundant insects and small animals live in the thousand feet of Sumas River riparian zone and native habitats which encircle our cultivated farmland. Native bumblebees pollinate out crops. In 2022 we are exploring certification as a Regenerative Farm. .A shout-out and heartfelt gratitude to the smart, hard-working Sumas River Farm crew. Many hands and abundant hard work are needed to produce our organic, fresh, local food. 2022 will be our 14th year of WSDA Organic certification.
