About Us

Our family has been farming Ebey's Prairie on Whidbey Island for over 130 years. We are proud to carry on the tradition of growing Sugar Hubbard Squash, which is an heirloom variety of winter squash developed by our Grandpa Ed Sherman in partnership with Washington State University tailored to our unique island ecosystem. We also carry on the Sherman family pumpkin patch tradition in October, sharing our bounty and unparalleled viewscape with our greater community. Alongside our winter produce, we grow a variety of veggies available at the farm stand in the summer months.

Growing & Operating Practices

No spray, no chemicals. Soil fertility and crop nutrients are managed through tillage and cultivation practices, crop rotations, and cover crops, supplemented with crop waste materials. We use organic farming standards whenever possible.
