What is the Food Hub?
The San Juan Islands Food Hub in an online marketplace for local food and agricultural products. Customers on Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan can buy directly from farmers and food producers across the county on one convenient storefront and receive their orders at a weekly pick-up on each island. Our aim is to support the folks who feed us and provide safe access to fresh local food during the COVID-19 crisis.
How it works:
Register using the green buttons above and see what’s available on the Hub right now. Yes, you can purchase from producers on other islands!
The order period is Thursday-Sunday every week. Producers may add new products as they sell out of items or new quantities become available, so check back before the market closes on Sunday night to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
Producers harvest or prepare food on Monday, then deliver inter-island goods for transport with Sasha’s Food Connections.
Every week, buyers pick up their orders at their local distribution site:
Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00pm at Taproot on Lopez
Tuesdays from 4:00-5:30pm at Brickworks on San Juan
Wednesdays from 2:00-2:45pm at OrcaSong Farm on Orcas
Our market managers are volunteers following careful protocols to reduce the risk of COVID exposure in our communities. Please wear a mask at the distribution site, practice safe distancing from other customers, and follow the market manager’s directions to receive your order. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as this new island food system evolves!
