About Us

Local Color Farm and Fiber grows food, flowers, and fiber in the Puyallup River Valley. Our farm grows a wide range of fresh market veggies, with an eye towards heirloom and Asian varieties that we market in our 28 week long CSA program, Queen Anne Farmers Market in Seattle, and to a select number of restaurants and grocery stores.

In addition to our vegetable fields, we shepherd a small flock of heritage breed Finnsheep for fiber and grass-fed lamb. We dye our farm fresh fibers with a diverse selection of dye plants. Our yarns can be found through our Fiber CSA, online shop, at select fiber shows in the PNW throughout the year, and at several local yarn stores.

Join us on the farm for natural dye workshops throughout the season!

Growing Methods

We believe in the synergy between plants and animals. We provide fertility for our produce and flowers using compost generated by our animals, cover crops, and organic fertilizer. Our sheep are rotated throughout our pastures and cover crops for the health of the land and the animals. Our flower field and natural dye plants provide lots of food for beneficial insects. Everything is grown without synthetic pesticides and chemicals. The result is an amazing diversity of vegetables and grass fed lamb and fibers. We are proud to be a small farm, allowing us to touch each step of the process.
