About Us
Jones Creek Farms is a small sustainable fruit farm located in the upper Skagit Valley. After watching the demise of the Washington apple industry in the 1990's, due to corporate greed and a disconnect with the consumer, we set about building a sustainable apple farm to serve the needs of the greater Puget Sound farmers market area. Unlike the large commodity fruit farms from eastern Washington our farm is devoted entirely to supplying fresh picked, tree ripe fruit, sold only locally, to you.... our only customers.
From our large, devoted customer base we also started a U-Pick for apples and pears. This has been hugely popular and is now the longest running established U-Pick in western Washington. Farm opening and closing dates vary by the season are usually sometime in August till sometime in October. Please check our web site for details.
Growing & Operating Practices
Although we were Certified Organic for 14 years we felt there was an ever increasing divergence between certified organic requirements and sound sustainable farming. We still employ the same sustainable approach towards farming that took years to create for our farm but we only sell a small portion of our products as organic in order to comply with the WSDA $5,000.exclusion from certification..
