Island Harvest Farm is a small-scale farm that grows and sells produce on Camano Island. We produce flavorful, high quality non-GMO crops by building the soil with natural inputs and crop rotations. Customers can find many of their favorites, plus something new to try at the roadside farm stand, which is open daily from dawn to dusk, June through November and as produce is available February-May.
While not certified organic, organic practices are followed. Only organic/non-GMO seeds are planted and crops are rotated annually to reduce pest pressure and rest the soil. Cover crops and locally produced compost are used to build the soil and retain nutrients in the soil over the winter. Tarping the soil is a technique used to kill cover crop, suppress weeds and reduce tillage. The majority of crops are started by seed in our propagation house and transplanted out into the field as plant starts. Everything is hand harvested which enhances the quality of the product and expands the varieties that can be grown.
