About Us

Hearth & Haven farm is your source for pasture-raised duck eggs and more!
We are a small family farm in Monroe, WA with a focus on sustainable agriculture and the highest standards of animal welfare. While duck eggs are our specialty, we also produce limited quantities of whole duck, whole turkey, pork, herbs, edible flowers, fruit, and specialty vegetables.

Growing & Operating Practices

Hearth & Haven Farm was started when we couldn't seem to find eggs that came from truly well-raised birds. It was too hard to tell whether the birds were actually being given the quality of life they deserved! So we began the farm in an effort to produce quality eggs from pampered birds.

All of our animals live on green pasture with plenty of room to roam, plenty of locally-milled organic feed, and every opportunity to express their natural behaviors. The ducks and geese swim, dabble, and nap in the shade with their friends. Turkeys dash about the farmyard or graze quietly in their mobile tractor, moved daily to new green pasture. And the hogs root freely in the woods, snuggling in straw-filled shelters for the night.

We never use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides of any kind on our fruits, vegetables, OR pastures. Crop and pasture rotation, interplanting, manual tools, and the animals themselves provide weed and pest control.
By running a mixed farm with both animals and vegetables, we are able to completely eliminate the need for off-farm fertilizers. Our animals fertilize the plants, and all excess produce is fed to the animals.

Most importantly, we are an open farm and welcome visitors by appointment. Please come and see the land and animals that produce your food!
