About Us
The Fresh Express Mobile Market is a part of the Tacoma Farmers Market. Tacoma Farmers Market (TFM) has been in operation for over 30 years and has a close connection with Pierce County communities. TFM began the Fresh Express market during the 2019 pandemic to bring fresh produce and other goods to our communities that might not have access to fresh food. Since then, it has grown to supply fresh and local produce to rural and urban communities all across Pierce County.
We believe that everyone should have access to fresh food all year long.
The Fresh Express Mobile Market is a year-round, mobile market, offering a full range of fresh and local products to a variety of neighborhoods in and community gathering spaces across Pierce County. We have also partnered with the Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) and the Tacoma Housing Authority (THA) to distribute weekly home deliveries in over 60 households around Tacoma.
We accept SNAP EBT, cash, and credit/debit, and we match SNAP EBT at a 1:1 ratio to double your food dollars. Unfortunately, the Fresh Express is unable to accept WIC and Senior FMNP vouchers at this time.
We’re working toward a stronger, more equitable local food system by investing in our county’s farmers and vendors and supporting community access to fresh and local food.
Growing & Operating Practices
All produce is grown using organic and natural practices even if not labelled as such. Some farms are not able to pay for the organic label but still grow with organic practices.
We source from local farmers and vendors which means we will only have seasonal produce available. The listed offerings we have will always be seasonal, what farmers and vendors in the PNW can produce in the current season. We won't always have everything listed here, depending on the season.
