About Us

Foggy Hog Farm is committed to raising animals in fields, not factories, while providing living wage agricultural jobs to our employees. We raise pigs, cows, chickens, and sheep using rotational grazing methods that allow them to always have fresh, living forage. These grazing methods are focused on providing happy animals that improve pasture and soil quality for future generations.

Growing & Operating Practices

We eschew all pesticides and other chemicals to focus on using our animals to create healthy soil. Healthy soil creates strong plants, which are more resilient to pests. We also occasionally introduce populations of natural insect predators to control pests.

Rather than use herbicides or synthetic fertilizers, we mulch to suppress weeds and even pull them up the old fashioned way! This can be more labor intensive, but also allows us to create jobs in agriculture while doing things responsibly.

We give our livestock the water they need, while limiting waste, through a system of 85 gallon waterers and automated on demand spouts. During the worst of the summer, we employ low level drip irrigation to improve pastureland.
