About Us

Cottage Gardens is a small family farm, established 1999. We sell plants and produce at the Proctor Farmers Market in Tacoma and we supply a plant rack for the Tacoma Co-op. Starting early Spring we offer a variety of vegetable starts for your garden, and herbs, flowers, landscape plants for your yard. We believe in feeding the bees and offer alot of plants that are nectar rich and bee friendly. All of our vegetable starts are garden tested and we bring the harvest to the Proctor Farmers Market every Saturday late Spring, Summer and Fall. Our heirloom tomatoes and our rainbow cherry tomato cups are quite popular with our customers. At the end of November, early December we will be selling winter wreaths made from sustainable harvest greens on the farm.

You can be confident that the plants that you purchase either at the Co-op or off our rack at the Proctor Market are also planted by us here at the farm, and we follow through by bringing that produce to Market for sale. Everything is harvested the Friday before the Market('harvest Friday') and is available for sale in less that 24 hours, with 22 travel miles. We look forward to helping you with your garden needs, or feeding your family fresh food. Please stop by and see us.

Growing & Operating Practices

We use sustainable growing methods.....We are not certified organic, however we follow organic practices and use organic inputs when available. We mix our own soil for all the plants we sell. We use the chickens to clean our fields after harvest.
