About Us

City Sprouts Farm builds community resilience by stewarding a productive urban farm space where people can come together to learn, increase food access, and demonstrate how community vitality can grow through our food system. We are a one-acre urban farm located in the Birchwood Neighborhood of Bellingham. The goals of our farm are to increase food access, practice ecological and regenerative growing methods, and to bring people together to learn and find belonging within our community and ecosystem.
Our programming is embedded within Western Washington University's Center for Community Learning and we provide multiple entry points for students to engage in local agriculture. We host WWU students through seasonal employment, classes, work parties, internships, and independent studies and more.
City Sprouts Farm is located on the ancestral homelands of the Lummi Nation, Nooksack Tribe and other federally recognized and unrecognized tribes. We are visitors here and are indebted to the generations of people who have stewarded the land and waterways of this region since time immemorial.

Growing & Operating Practices

We use ecological and regenerative growing practices, plant flowers for pollinators, and prioritize soil health.
