City Sprouts Farm is an urban vegetable farm run by Annah Young and Ellie Duncan.
We utilize formally abandoned space in the Birchwood Neighborhood to grow fresh, nutritious produce, nurturing people and the land by prioritizing food access and soil health. We use all organic practices at our 1 acre diversified vegetable farm off Birchwood Ave. Starting in 2021, we are also growing one acre of certified organic vegetables and fruit at Cloud Mountain Farm Center.
Our primary goal for the food we grow is to make it as accessible as possible for the community while simultaneously running a viable business. We are fortunate to be partnering with several incredible organizations like Sea Mar Community Medical Centers and the Bellingham Food Bank to grow affordable, sustainably grown vegetables for the neighborhood and beyond.
We would like to recognize that the land we are farming on is the traditional homeland of Lummi nation, Nooksack tribe, Swinomish tribe, and other federally recognized and unrecognized tribes. We are visitors here.
We use regenerative growing practices, plant flowers for pollinators, and prioritize soil health. At our urban farm in the Birchwood neighborhood we use all organic practices but are not certified. Our plot at Cloud Mountain Farm center is certified organic.
