About Us

Broomstick Farm is a vegetable and seed farm focused on growing resilient, top-quality seed garlic and flavorful produce for the greater Puget Sound community of growers, makers, and eaters. Farm partners Sami Burse, John Bonsted, and Maia Binhammer met while working on other farms locally in Skagit/Whatcom counties and, after a number of years working for other growers, dreamt up their own collaborative farm venture. The farm is a joint endeavor that seeks to build upon the skills and expertise each farm partner has accrued over a collective 12+ years of organic farming experience. Wanting to create a farm business that is sustainable (environmentally, financially, and physically) and community-focused, Broomstick Farm is excited to be farming this season at the Cloud Mountain Farm Incubator in a collaborative farm environment. For the 2023 season Broomstick Farm is growing hard-neck garlic for seed and culinary use, hot peppers, sweet peppers, pie pumpkins, and a few select herbs.
