About Us
Established in 2023, Brackenshire Farm is a small-scale and woman-owned flower, vegetable, and herb farm located in Deming, WA along the bank of the South Fork Nooksack River. Our goal is to provide unique and high-quality fresh and dried flowers, medicinal and culinary herbs, nutritious vegetables, and other plant based and value-added products to our local community while stewarding the land we work on and the ecosystems that surround and support us. We use regenerative practices and an ecological approach to everything we do.
Growing & Operating Practices
Our values guide everything we do at Brackenshire Farm;
- Treat the natural world with respect and reverence - do as little harm to the ecosystem we farm on as possible.
- Minimize our environmental impact as much as we can - sell and buy locally, use reduced and alternative fuel, reduce plastic, close loops on the farm, support the non-farm flora and fauna, never use pesticides or chemicals, and much more.
- Only sell products that are high quality to our customers and local community.
- Pay close attention to the health and quality of our soil, balancing and feeding it yearly.
- Maintain our beginners mind so we can always change, improve, and stay creative through the evolution of our farm.
- Do what we can to support and transform our local agricultural sector towards one of strengthened environmental stewardship, prioritized social justice principles for farmers and farm workers, and a resilient local economy.
- Support our native and honeybee pollinators for as much of the year as possible with our extra blooms.
