Bella Italia was born out of a desire to bring friends together around the table.
Established in the Spring of 1996, Neil Conklin gathered a group of creative, enterprising friends to create a restaurant that reminded those of warm, gregarious Italian hospitality. Joining in the effort and putting the original ‘authentic’ mark on the menu and service were Mirella Lorena Benedetti of Bologna and Mirella Hunley of Catania, Sicily.
Accentuating the use of fresh local ingredients was paramount from the beginning. Fresh Olympic Coast Salmon from Neah Bay and Quilleute, Halibut, Dungeness Crab, and Mussels and Clams from the Hood Canal have always been celebrated. Year round local organic produce from Nash Huber’s Dungeness Valley farm is a long standing tradition we are proud of.
A friendly convivial atmosphere with warm familiar wait staff welcomes a local following and visitors from far and near. An extensive and extraordinary wine program with over 500 labels featuring the ‘House’ Bella Italia Sangiovese made with friends Myles Anderson & Gordy Venneri of Walla Walla Vintners adds to the pleasure.
