Barreca Vineyards was established in 1987. We grow grapes organically using regenerative agriculture. We sell grapes, wine that we make ourselves and grape plants. Our wines have no sulfites or other additives. Some are aged in oak. We sell through local farmers markets, our on-farm tasting room, online and through local natural food stores and breweries.
Although not well-known, the French Hybrid varieties we grow are flavorful and cover a broad range of wine styles. Lucie Kuhlmann, Marechal Foch, Leon Millot, Frontenac and Baco Noir are our main red varieties. Okanogan Riesling, Siegerrebe, Gewurztraminer, Apple and Huckleberry are among our white wines.
We welcome guests to our tasting room but because we do not have full-time staff, we ask that guests call ahead, 509-680-6357. You can taste our wines for a nominal fee that is waved it you purchase wine. We are happy to show our vineyard and other facilities.
We grow organically and regeneratively. The vineyard is not tilled and we encourage native grasses and forbs. Because of our northern climate we grow faster-maturing French Hybrid grapes. Our area is not farmed as commercially as the Columbia Basin so there are fewer pesticides in the air and water. Most of our neighboring farms and orchards are organic.
