$100Parmesan, Pecorino, and Mozzarella have become common names in American cuisine, but there are so many more Italian cheeses to know and love. Join local cheese specialist Courtney Johnson as she takes you on a journey through the cheeses of the boot-shaped country, one nibble and story at a time. As you taste and learn, she’ll explore the history, culture, and evolution of cheeses in one of Europe’s oldest cheesemaking countries. The class will taste through 9 Italian cheeses paired with a selection of accompaniments, many of them made locally in Washington.
