Raclette is a raw, cow’s milk washed-rind cheese created in the mountainous regions of Switzerland and France; it has a brothy flavor and it melts like a dream. The name for this cheese comes from the French verb ‘racler,’ which means “to scrape” — which is how this cheese is traditionally served: molten and scraped over potatoes, cured meats, and pickles.

Street Cheese will be at Bickerson’s Brewhouse in Renton serving melted Raclette cheese from France and Washington over potato chips with charcuterie and pickles. Composed cheese and charcuterie plates will also be available to eat there or to-go, and Street Cheese will have cheese and fine accompaniments for sale.

Street Cheese is a mobile cheese shop based out of Burien that serves the greater Seattle area from central Seattle south to Tacoma. Founded by two career cheesemongers with a passion for making good cheese available to folks regardless of where they live, Street Cheese offers composed and custom cheese and charcuterie plates, cheese by the wedge or wheel, fine accompaniments for cheese, and a variety of cheese education classes.
