In light of COVID-19 and both national and local agencies recommending to cancel large gatherings, we will unfortunately be cancelling the Whatcom Meet Your Farm CSA Fair . . . But!
Beginning April 1, we’ll be launching a series of Meet Your Farmer videos so you can still get to know the farmers in our community who are offering local food boxes and CSA shares. In this time of uncertainty, CSAs and local food boxes are one of the best ways you can get your food — and locally!
Subscribing to a CSA (community-supported agriculture) can:
- Reduce your trips to the grocery store!
- Help you eat your veggies, and in turn, boost your immunity!
- Limit the handling of your food by buying directly from a farmer!
- Provide great opportunities to cook together with your family, and enjoy locally made recipes — most farms provide recipes that go along with their box to help you with meal planning!
With meal kits and online delivery on the rise, a CSA share allows customers to enjoy the benefits of convenience and eating well, while supporting local farms. CSA programs also let you skip the middle man and forgo busy box stores, all while ditching plastic packaging and creating less waste with food that was grown minutes from your dining room table.

The Meet Your Farmer CSA Fair is co-hosted by Tilth Alliance. Tilth Alliance teaches people of all ages and backgrounds how to grow, cook, and eat nutritious food in ways that regenerate healthy ecosystems. They offer hands-on learning experiences and provide training and resources to Washington State farmers.
The Meet Your Farmer CSA Fair is an Eat Local First event, helping to bring more food that’s grown here in Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, and Island Counties to our plates!
